Immortal by Gillian Shields

Okay, so this isn't really a review. I didn't finish the book, so I don't think I'm really qualified to write a "real" review. Still, I thought I'd throw my two cents in.

I've been a little overwhelmed with all the stuff I have going on and the many books I have to read. With so little time to read, I really hate wasting my time on books that aren't worth it.
Immortal wasn't terrible, but it really wasn't very good in my opinion.

Throughout the novel, I couldn't help but feel like I'd read this book before. So many parts of it were
 clich├ęd and unoriginal.

The general story: a depressed, lonely girl moves into a creepy boarding school that seems to hold dark secrets. While there, she meets a dark, beautiful boy who also seems to be filled with secrets. The girl also discovers that her past is filled with secrets. Apparently there are many confusing secrets...

This novel just didn't hold my attention, and I didn't feel it was worth my time to finish. I wouldn't recommend it, but if you're interested in witches and boarding school, I would recommend
A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. This book was very similar to it, but Shields just couldn't pull it off like Bray did.

That's too bad that you didn't enjoy it! This happens to me a lot, and it's good of you to be honest.

Thank you for the honest review. I've heard great things, and really bad things about this book, so it's nice to know what you really feel about it :)
