Boys Are Better in Books: Michael Moscovtiz

"Boys Are Better in Books" aka "My book boyfriend" is hosted by Missie at The Unread Reader. This is a weekly meme in which bloggers can discuss a fictional crush. Swoon-worthy quotes and an explanation for why you chose the character are encouraged! Also, I enjoy choosing pictures that look how I imagine the character. If you want to join in this fun meme, visit Missie's blog

Michael Moscovitz
"I just want to make sure you know that there's one person, anyway,
who liked you long before he found out you were a princess... And will keep on liking you no matter what."

Who he is: Lily Moscovtiz's brother, Michael, is Mia's love interest in the Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot. Although they have known each other for years, Mia and Michael discover that they both want to be more than friends.

Age: 18

Hair: Brown

Eyes: Brown

Description: Michael, despite his status as a genius in high school and college, is athetic and good looking. Mia is constantly raving about how good he smells and how beautiful his eyes are.

I have only been in love with Michael since, like, forever. I love the way he says my name. I love the way he laughs. I love the way he asks my opinion, like he really cares what I think.

I look into Michael’s eyes: I fall and fall and am pretty sure I will never be able to get out of them again, but that’s okay, because I love being there.

And the way he responded was, he reached out, took the tiara from me, took both my hands in his, pulled me towards him, and gave me a really long kiss.

On the lips. Of the French variety.

MICHAEL WAS ON MY FIRE ESCAPE!!!! I couldn’t believe it!

I ran over to the window and flung it open and was like, “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE???? WHY ARE YOU ON THE FIRE ESCAPE???? WHY DIDN’T YOU RING THE DOOR BUZZER LIKE A NORMAL PERSON????”

“It’s more romantic this way."

But I couldn’t help thinking if it really were the end of the world, it might be better to be with Michael, even if he isn’t so hot, because at least he makes me laugh. I think at the end of the world a sense of humor would be important. Plus, of course, Michael looks really good without a shirt.

Michael Moscovtiz was one of my first fictional crushes and will always hold a special place in my heart. He's sweet, extremely intelligent, and attractive. Love him. I chose Johnathon Bennett to represent Michael, and he is perfect for the character in my eyes. I can't think of anyone that fits him better.
