Douglas Booth as William Herondale
"Will is described to have deep blue eyes and black hair that falls in his eyes. He has elegant features - high cheekbones; long, thick lashes; full lips and an elegant throat. He is muscular and well built with broad shoulders. He is mentioned to be 6 foot tall and have callused hands from his years of training as a Shadowhunter. He is said to be extremely handsome by most people." (Shadowhunter wiki)
So, Douglass is Will. Will is Douglas. That is the end. Does this picture not look like something straight out of Clockwork Prince? Gah, it's just too perfect.
Astrid Berges Frisbey as Tessa Gray
"Tessa has smooth, brown hair and steely gray-blue eyes. She thinks herself average and her hair unruly. She is also considerably taller than other girls and boys her age. Magnus, in , says she has a serious face. When reminiscing about past times (bonus content of ), Magnus thinks of Tessa as pretty (along with Sophie). Not traditionally beautiful, but kindly attractive. Jem and Will both think she is beautiful." (Shadowhunters wiki)
I feel like I choose Astrid to represent half of the heroines I read about, but something about her simple beauty always draws me to her.
Gabriella Wilde as Jessamine Lovelace
"Jessamine has long whitish-blonde hair and brown eyes. She wears make up and wears a lot of expensive dresses." (Shadowhunter wiki)
I'm not super picky when it comes to Jessamin's character, seeing as she isn't one of my favorites, but I think Gabriella's beauty and personality would be perfect.
Anthony Neely as James (Jem) Castairs
"Jem is described as being quite pale and having odd bright silver colored hair, like an untarnished shilling. His eyes are said to be the same silver and he has a fine-boned angular face, with a slight curve of his eyes. He looks youthful, partially because of his slightness. He is also tall, very slender and handsome too." (Shadowhunter wiki)
I love Jem as much as I love Will. Trust me, reading this series is an emotional rollercoaster if your torn between the two. While I can't find anyone that fits Jem's unique looks perfectly, Anthony comes pretty close to my mental image.
Carey Mulligan as Charlotte Branwell
"When Tessa Gray meets her, she describes Charlotte as 'a very small woman, almost child-size, with thick brown hair knotted at the nape of her neck, and a neat, clever little face with bright, dark eyes like a bird's.'" (Shadowhunter wiki)
Small woman? Check. Dark brown hair? Check. Neat, clever little face? I think so. Carey is the best choice for Charlotte that I've stumbled upon so far.
Alan Tudyk as Henry Branwell
Henry is described as having red hair and hazel eyes. He is about Charlotte's age (mid to late twenties) and can be a bit disoriented. He is extremely intelligent but often has trouble focusing on things other than his experiments.
Okay, so yes, this is also Cassandra Clare's pick, but he's just perfect for Henry. Maybe a little old, but otherwise he's spot on for the awkward but lovable character.
Gemma Arterton as Camille Belcourt
"Camille was described as extremely beautiful. She had blond hair the color of spun silver. Her eyes were a beautiful green. She moved with an elegance and grace to her." (Shadowhunter wiki)
So, apparently somewhere along the way my mind got confused. I have always pictured Camille with dark features, not blonde. Even so, I still think Gemma is an awesome choice for Camille.
Darren Criss as Magnus Bane
"Magnus is a warlock described as being long and lean, but not skinny, with lightly muscled arms and an inch or so taller than Alec. He is a quarter Indonesian, a quarter Dutch, and half demon. He wears all kinds of make-up, such as glitter around his eyes and lipstick. He likes to flaunt his bisexuality by wearing rainbow leather pants, sparkly belt buckles, and vibrant nail polish. Magnus has yellow/green "cat eyes," which have vertical pupils, and he does not have a belly button. These are his marks for being a warlock." (Shadowhunter wiki)
I have always loved Darren for Magnus. Obviously, I cannot find a picture with the correct amount of flamboyant fashion and excessive makeup, but I still can't get the image out of my head. Most people will probably disagree with me on this one, but it's just my personal opinion.
That's all for now. If you guys want me to cast any of the other characters, let me know in the comments. Also, what do you think of my cast? Yes, no, maybe?
