TV Shows for Book Lovers: Awkward

For several years, I barely watched any television. I assumed that most tv series were shallow or unoriginal. I guess Disney Channel corrupted me when I grew up, and I can't stand stupid sitcoms. However, ever since I got a Netflix account and received access to hundreds of new movies and television series, I've become an avid television watcher. So, I've decided to occasionally share one of the many series I'm addicted to.

I started watching this show on a school night for absolutely no reason. I literally have no idea why I found myself watching episode one. However, I'm am so glad that I did. This show is hilarious, witty, and absolutely ridiculous.
"Awkward (styled as Awkward.) is an American teen comedy series created by Lauren Lungerich for MTV. The show's central character is Jenna Hamilton (Ashley Rickards), a Palos Verdes, California, teenager who struggles with her identity, especially after an accident is misconstrued as a suicide attempt." (taken from wikipedia.com)
Jenna is, to be frank, awkward. She's a teenage girl struggling to balance school, romance, and her place in the adolescent social structure. I laughed and cringed as she stumbled her way through high school. If you're a lover of drama and/or comedy, I'd definitely recommend this show.

Plus, each show is only 20 minutes long, which means you can do what I did and watch the entire first season in one night. Not that I'd advise that, since I got absolutely no sleep that night...
