Boys Are Better in Books: Tristan Carruthers

"Boys Are Better in Books" aka "My book boyfriend" is hosted by Missie at The Unread Reader. This is a weekly meme in which bloggers can discuss a fictional crush. Swoon-worthy quotes and an explanation for why you chose the character are encouraged! Also, I enjoy choosing pictures that look how I imagine the character. If you want to join in this fun meme, visit Missie's blog

Tristan Carruthers
“I love you, Ivy. I'll never stop loving you."

Who he is: Tristan, Ivy's love interest in Kissed by an Angel by Elizabeth Chandler. Although he may appear to be the most popular, good-looking guy in school, he's down to earth and would rather be with the shy, sweet blonde girl he fell for than any of the cheerleaders.

Age: 17/18

Hair: Straight, brown

Eyes: Dark

Description: Because he is a swimmer, Tristan has a lean, sculpted body. Most girls describe his as beautiful.

“How would you feel about sharing your bed?" she asked.

Tristan blinked. "Excuse me?"

"He'd love to!" Gary said.

Tristan shot him a look.

"Good," said Ivy, failing to notice Gary's wink. "Ella can be a pillow hog, but all you have to do is roll over her."

"Promise me, Ivy-"

"I'll promise you nothing but that I love you," she cried.

"Listen to me," Tristan pleaded. "You know I can't stay any longer."

The pale, glittering night was raining now, and fresh tears gleamed on her cheeks, but he had to leave.

"I love you," he said. "I love you. Love him."

“This isn't some kind of game for me. I love you, Ivy Lyons, and one day you're going to believe me."

I chose the Australian swimmer Eamon Sullivan to represent Tristan.
