An angelic romantic suspense trilogy in one volume!

"Kissed by an Angel": Ivy and Tristan have the love of a lifetime--until Tristan dies in a car accident. Now Tristan returns as an angel, but Ivy is unable to feel his presence.

"The Power of Love": Tristan has learned that the person responsible for the car crash is after Ivy. Can he cross the boundaries of life and death to warn Ivy that she is in trouble?

"Soulmates": Tristan must rescue Ivy, but if he does so his mission will be finished and he will have to leave his true love forever. (taken from
I read this trilogy-in-one book years ago and remembered loving it. So, I decided to reread it and see if my eighth grade opinion still held true. Surprisingly, it did. I was swept away by the romance and suspense of this series. Full of humor and friendship (along with to-die-for romance), this 690 page book kept me locked up in my room for  hours.

I'll admit it: the plot isn't exactly original. The concept of a lover coming back from the dead to protect his/her partner has been done before. Just look at Ghost. However, that didn't stop me from falling in love with this story. Tristan and Ivy have such a pure, honest relationship. It was a joy to watch them fall in love and then continue to love each other, even after the tragic accident that separated them.

One of the things I admire most about Chandler's writing is her character development. I got to know each and every one of Ivy's friends and family members. It makes the story exponentially more enjoyable if I feel a bond with the characters. I could relate to everyone, even the people I didn't always trust.

While the cover and synopsis of Kissed by an Angel may hint at a gushy romance and nothing more, there is plenty of suspense and mystery in the story. Even though I'd already read this book, I couldn't recall how it ended. I was taken for yet another roller coaster as I tried to solve the mystery before the characters did. The ending was more intense and serious than I had remembered.

Overall, I'd recommend Kissed by an Angel to any lovers of romance and intense mystery. This trilogy has stood the test of time and will continue to capture readers' hearts. While there is a sequel, sequel, I'm not sure if I want to read it. I love the ending in this book, and I'm not sure I want the series to continue. We shall see.

“When you love someone, it's never over. You move on because you have to, but you take them with you in your heart.”
