I'm a fan of Cassandra Clare, so I may not be the better blogger to tell you if it's good or not since I'm too fond of these characters and this world to really criticize these books, but one thing is for sure, it's far better than City of Fallen Angels.

Some of you thought City of Fallen Angels wasn't as good as the first three books of the series and even if I highly enjoyed it, I tend to think it wasn't that good compared to the other books. But City of Lost Souls is exhausting in a wonderful way. I was always on the edge, almost ruining my not so long fingernails.

With City of Lost Souls, you'll laugh with Simon's good words, you'll fear for Jace and Clary, you'll have you heart broken more than once. It's darker than ever and more thrilling than what I expected.

I definitely agree with you that COLS makes you realize why Clare continued the series after City of Glass. I'm so glad she did... Otherwise I would have to deal with only 3 books to get my Jace fix! Great review :D

I have read this book too, and your review of it is spot on! Many people who read it after "The Hunger Games," did not feel it had enough action in it, but I feel it is more realistic the way it is. I also agree with what Cassia looks like. The cover is my ideal Cassia as well.

Aww! What a bummer! I have a copy of this, and was excited because of the psychological aspect. I'm sad to hear you didn't love it. The idea of using an intensive fear immersion therapy was really intriguing. But alas. :P

I LOVED this one, but completely agree that the ending was a bit disappointing. I also felt that it legit came out of nowhere. I get that Tris was blindsided a bit, so it makes sense, but I didn't quite believe it... But, it's still one that makes me CRAZY excited for the sequel! :)
