Why I Need It:

I won't lie: I strongly dislike the cover art, and I'm not convinced that Magnus and Alex need an entire novel/series to themselves, but I am interested to see how Cassandra Clare handles an adult novel as opposed to a YA novel. Plus, I've been skeptical about Clare's new novels before, and I always end up loving them.

Why I Need It:

So you're telling me this is a book about a prince under a curse and a modern-day Belle who needs to save him from his cursed world and kingdom? What part of that doesn't sound like something I need to read?

Why I Need It:

After falling in love with both Alex Approximately and Starry Eyes, I think it's safe to say that Jenn Bennett is one of my go-to YA contemporary authors. Serious Moonlight sounds like another romantic tale that's right up my alley.

I've made no secret of my distaste for book one, The Cruel Prince, and yet I find myself drawn to this sequel. The ending of the first book held some promise, so maybe I'm just holding out for a second book that can redeem the series in my eyes.

Why I Need It:

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed One of Us Is Lying by McManus, so I'm automatically inclined to pick up Two Can Keep a Secret. Hopefully it will be just as interesting and fast-paced.

A darkly glamorous world with thrilling adventure? Yes please. Everything about this one appeals to me, although I will say I'm interested to see where the story goes. Hopefully it won't disappoint.

warrior mythology I was looking for. I'm really hoping that this February release by an author I already love will satisfy my craving for all things mythical and monstrous. Fingers crossed!

I'm such a sucker for tales about sisters and queens. One look at my reading list will reveal that I'm already obsessed with more than a few series that sound like this one, but still, I'm entirely ready to embrace some warrior queens and an empire with Phoenixes.
